Seth-isms #2
Seth Godin’s is one blog I read regularly, not least because he so often touches on topics that are at the heart of Great Work.
Today’s post is about what it takes to think bigger.
That’s different from “think big” – which can sometimes be a bland and useless admonishment.
It’s take what you’ve got in front of you know, the thing you working on right now, the Good Work that’s taking up your time and energy and effort and focus … in short, that’s taking up your capital L Life.
And think bigger.
What would it take for this to stop being Good Work and start being Great Work?
It’s already pretty clear that this will mean not just tinkering around the edges, not just changing a font or getting all the punctuation to be consistent.
It will most likely mean shifting from minutae to strategic, from details to vision. Asking:
=> What’s the impact that I really want this to have?
=> If I was filled to the brim with courage, what would I do here?
=> Who will I shock, annoy and challenge? And am I up for that?
In short, is this the time for me to say Yes to Great Work?
