Pulling back the curtains on glory

As an Australian, it was both suprising and a little galling to see the UK do so well in the Beijing Olympics.

(You have to understand that Aussies tend to support two teams:  Australia and whoever’s playing England).

The engine for the Brits’ success was the cycling team, and one of the main pistons of that engine was Bradley Wiggins.

Wiggins won two golds to add to his gold medal in Athens.

But to anyone imagining that it was largely a case of 1. good genetics plus 2. a lot of time on the bike fails to imagine the story behind the gold medals.

In this candid interview Wiggins sets out the story of the ups and downs between and during the Olympics.  And while the details are his alone, what’s true for all of us that the journey to Great Work is never a straight-forward or easy one.
