The Friday Grab Bag: Three others’ posts to read (May 8th)

Follow Michael Bungay Stanier on Twitter.

Here are three articles that have made me think and made me laugh this week.

1. Chris Guillebeau on Keeping it Real

Chris has been this week’s Great Work Interviewee, and lots of folk have written to say how much they’ve enjoyed our conversation.

Chris’s article and video combo reflects on what it means to ‘keep it real’ – particularly if you have a Tribe and folks that follow what you do on line. Even if you don’t, it’s worth a look – because ‘keeping it real’ is something that’s useful to keep in mind all the time. My favourite line? “Kindness and coolness are scalable.”

2. 10 Soul Searching Career Questions

Short and sweet from Jake Green, one of the Brazen Careerist network.

I think #4 is particularly good.

(And I’ll probably be stealing some of these for future pieces on doing more Great Work.)

3. The pattern of stuck/unstuck

I came across this via Dan Pink on Twitter. It’s a gentle, insightful reflection on how we move from doing a Good Thing to being in a Rut – what that feels like and why Transition is an important third element.
