Michael – thank you for sharing your story. Here’s mine. After ending a hurtful 18 year relationship, I took to working out to de-stress and focus. One afternoon, I was in a very small gym in a very small town on the treadmill. That’s where I fell in love with my sweetie sight unseen. I overheard a voice behind me and to this day I cannot recall what was said. But whatever it was grabbed me from the heart and turned me around. We have been together 8 years now and will be married this summer.

Enjoyed your story. It is amazing how things work out. I would like to tell you some real usual story about my meeting my wife of 40 years, but it was not unusual. I met her on a blind date in college. Her best friend was dating my roommate. And so it goes.

Aaaah, what a great story!

I also often think “what if” about us (my husband and I) meeting. We also met at Rhodes, this time in Grahamstown, South Africa. And by pure coincidence, he was looking for someone to dance in one of his music videos and someone said, “ask Marcia”.

He did, I said no (stroppy as anything, still to this very day) but we became friends. And here we are 18 years later – married for 15 of them with two beautiful children, 8-month-old boy/ girl twins.

One more thing, in our current world , perseverance in couple life is a luxurious thing, thanks for telling us that long couple life is possible even if we succeed in our professionnal life and travels a lot…
