It’s embarrassing that it’s taken me this long to post this interview with Tom. He’s an old friend, president and founder of the IATF, and and has long been a champion for helping teams do extraordinary things. This is important, because I believe that the team is the most powerful unit for change within an organization. Trying to “boil the ocean” of the whole organization is nearly impossible, while focusing on just one person is useful, but rarely enough to be a catalyst for broader change. With a team, you’re flexible enough to respond to change and resilient enough to deal with the vicissitudes of change. In our conversation, we discuss:
