Best Three Books on: The Next level of Personal Growth
My stand on this is clear: you can’t continue to thrive, grow and flourish as a busy manager or leader without working on “Your Own Stuff”.
Sure you can’t optimize and improve the stuff around you. But after a while, when you hit the ceiling or encounter the plateau, you need to look inside and ask:
How am I responsible for what’s happening here?
I think most self-development and self-help books are pretty vacuous and not really worth the time and the effort.
But I also think there are some beauties out there. Here’s my enthusiastic review of three that I think have the potential to shift things for you – they certainly did for me.
The books I talk about are
- Robert Keagan and Lisa Laskow Lahey’s Immunity to Change
- The Arbinger Institute, Leadership and Self-Deception
- Brene Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection
