Twofer Tuesday: On Exploring Creativity and Improving Resilience
Have you joined our Tools for the Time-Crunch Manager LinkedIn group? It’s designed to inspire and help you conquer the day-to-day challenges of your workday! We often share resources like this…
Putting “What If” Into Play
I’m inspired by people who ask questions. “Why?” “Why Not?” and “What if?”
These people are the ones who challenge the norm and aren’t afraid to shake things up. They take risks and wind up with far greater rewards than many of us could have imagined.
Perhaps that’s why this article about MashUp Machine, a new startup looking to redefine the era of mass media, caught my eye. The concept is a crazy mix of creative storytelling, crowdsourcing and machine learning the enables people to create stories that adapt, learn and evolve.
The reason? “We want to explore alternate endings, but we are trapped in a single static story.”
Are you trapped in a single static story? How can you learn and evolve to change the outcome? What creativity can you put into play?
Thinking Your Way to Success
The ubiquitous “They” say it’s not what happens to us that matters, it’s how we respond to it. We all experience disappointments; whether we choose to view them as failures or as opportunities to learn and improve can make all the difference in what we do next.
But are we destined to respond well (or poorly) to external events, or can we acquire the necessary mental skills to thrive, even in the face of setbacks?
“We can make ourselves more or less vulnerable by how we think about things.”
